The Impact Of Belief: Learning To Take Control Of Your Life
By Lin Conklin

Belief systems are initiated at birth, if not sooner, and continue to form as we mature. Belief systems can be defined as the collection of rules and facts that we accept as being true. Our own, personal belief systems act as the filters through which we make sense out of everything we hear, smell, see, taste, and touch. When we encounter something new, we form our thoughts and opinions about it based on and within the rules and facts that make up our personal belief system.
Do you have behaviors that you do not like but don't know how to change? Do you wonder why you act a certain way? Have you ever wished you could change the way you react to what others say or do? If you want the answers to these questions, this self help book is for you. THE IMPACT OF BELIEF: LEARNING TO TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR LIFE is filled with important truths about how your belief system impacts your life and how you can learn to take control of it through four thoroughly explained steps. After reading this book you will know how to identify your beliefs and their affect on your life. You will be empowered to change your beliefs and discard old, unbeneficial habits. You will know how to use beliefs to enhance and have more power over your life.

Choices In The Great Circle
By Lin Conklin
CHOICES IN THE GREAT CIRCLE weaves a fictional story set in medieval England for readers to understand how faith and inner development can help in the achievement of goals whereas power and jealousy can corrupt and destroy. Readers learn how the characters' choices affect achievement of their goals, their life's purpose and their destinies.
Independent, intelligent, yet more complex than most of her peers, sixteen-year-old Amay Desarius is a student of paganism called the Old Ways. She has desired to be the leader of the Old Ways, the Charisa, since she was a young girl.
Ixion is a serious practitioner of the Old Ways. When he meets Amay he quickly falls in love, but keeps his feelings secret, knowing she is a candidate to become Charisa.
Robin is older, powerful, and well connected. He has lost his connection to his heart and his heart’s desire long ago. He has become corrupted by the money and power he has acquired by moving and trading items plundered during the Crusades.
Amay is faced with many choices, trials and lessons as she matures. She must decide whether to act on her attraction to the power and wealth Robin’s influential connections might afford her or pursue the love she has developed for the honorable Ixion, all while she is becoming more powerful in her own right as a woman of the Old Ways. Choosing either man means she would forfeit her chance to become the Charisa. In a time when the Church is threatening to annihilate the Old Ways, her choice may well control their survival or destruction.

Connecting Into Observation and Awareness
By Jon Boyd

Our ability to observe and be aware of our surroundings and circumstances dictates how well we are able to stay both safe and alive. Author Jon Boyd's 23 years as an Air Force pilot, experiences riding a motorcycle and his ten years studying tracking have made him more aware than most and given him a unique perspective on the ability to observe the world.
In this book he shares what he has learned about the interplay of observation, perception and awareness and the application of this interplay to the processes that are unfolding or are about to unfold (i.e., the effect of the interplay on the observer). An introduction to tracking is also included since tracking can be used as a laboratory to sharpen our observation skills.
Regardless of our prior experience, Boyd's matter-of-fact methods and exercises will increase our awareness, make our observations more in-depth and enrich our lives.

Uniting Nations
By Lin Conklin

UNITING NATIONS evaluates the effect our beliefs have on our lives and the decisions we make. Set in the early 1500s in what is now New York state, UNITING NATIONS traces a young Indian woman's life and how she comes to understand the power her beliefs hold. On a grander scale the Seneca Nation must choose between banding with their long-standing enemies in order to be able to resist the invasion of the white man or risk extinction. Readers learn how their beliefs affect the way they see the world and how they affect decisions and choices.
The Seneca and Mohawk have been raised to believe there is nothing good about the other nation. Because of the encroachment of the white man, the tribes are exposed to each more than they have been in years. Through this contact they learn that the beliefs they held about each other may not be true. They learn that it is much easier to hate a nation than the individuals who make up a nation.
Seneca is strong, intelligent and rebellious. Her mother died during a raid when Seneca was only a few days old. The absence of her mother and the resulting anger she feels have shaped her belief system. She distrusts others and is too quick to anger. Although she has never encountered a Mohawk, she has inherited hatred of them through her warrior father.
Montana is chief of the Mohawk. He and Seneca meet by chance. He manages to conceal his tribal identity long enough to show her he is not the monster her father and others have described. Montana dreams of uniting the warring tribes in order to more effectively hold off the invasion of the white man.
When Seneca learns of Montana's tribal affiliation, she must choose between the friendship she has come to value and holding onto her negative beliefs about the Mohawk. Her choice and her ability to question her beliefs becomes an example to the Seneca people, who also have to decide whether to continue warring with the Mohawk or put aside their rivalries and band with them in order to improve their chances of holding off the encroachment of the white man.
